About Me.

Ian Willis

Welcome!  My name is Ian Willis.  Primarily I keep this domain for the easy to remember email address, but if you're interested in learning a little bit about me here's a quick bio.

Throughout the course of my career I have both literally and figuratively worn many hats.  After university I began working in public accounting performing IS/IT audits for Fortune 500 companies across multiple industries.  After several years in Tech and Accounting I took my leave from the industry to pursue a full year of volunteer service working in Conservation and Disaster Recovery both domestically (following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita) and abroad.

My volunteer service sparked a passion for conservation work that has kept me living and working in remote areas from the deserts of the southwest, to the Antarctic Plateau developing our nation's trail systems, participating in scientific research expeditions, fighting invasive species, assisting in search and rescue and wildland firefighting operations among many other things.  In so doing I have gained considerable expertise across a broad range of skills from stone masonry, timber falling, mechanical repair, and heavy equipment operation, not to mention a full breadth of leadership skills having led teams of up to 60 individuals consisting of people from highly diverse backgrounds.
